This Privacy Policy explains how Barkr (“Barkr”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit our website and join our waitlist. Barkr is currently in pre-launch: the website’s main purpose today is to let you register your interest so we can tell you when the app goes live.

Information we collect
Information you give us
When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit, together with which form you used to sign up. We do not ask for any other personal information at this stage.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard technical information for security and reliability, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of your request. We also store a small theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser’s local storage; this stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is not used to track you.
How we use your information
- To notify you when Barkr launches and to send you occasional updates about the launch.
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website.
- To respond to your questions or requests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on your consent to send you waitlist and launch emails (you can withdraw it at any time), and on our legitimate interests in keeping the website secure and operational.
Service providers and sharing
We share personal data only with trusted providers that help us run Barkr, and only as needed to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database hosting where your waitlist email is stored.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and content delivery.
- Resend — email delivery, used to send you launch communications.
These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate data-processing terms. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Our providers may process your data in countries outside your own, including outside the EEA/UK. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place to protect your information.
How long we keep your data
We keep your waitlist email until Barkr launches and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete it or withdraw your consent — whichever comes first.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of further messages at any time by using it or by contacting us.
Children
Barkr is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
